How We Can Support You
ADHD, autism and anxiety.
Chrystal Therapy provides neurodiversity-affirming counselling and psychotherapy for children and young people, with particular expertise in autism, ADHD, anxiety and emotional overwhelm. We work with schools across Worcestershire and the West Midlands to offer therapeutic support tailored to pupils’ needs. Working alongside SENCOs, pastoral teams and designated safeguarding leads, we help pupils develop self-understanding, confidence and practical coping strategies.
How we can support your school
Therapy shaped around each pupil
Every pupil brings different experiences, strengths and ways of communicating. We build trusting therapeutic relationships and adapt sessions to their developmental stage, communication preferences and sensory needs. Our approach can include talking, creative activities, visual resources and practical strategies, allowing pupils to engage at their own pace. 'Our school counselling service is led by a BACP-accredited counsellor and qualified clinical supervisor.'
ADHD and autism
We support pupils to understand their strengths and explore difficulties such as overwhelm, changes in routine, friendships and expressing their needs. Sessions respect each pupil’s neurodivergent identity and help them develop strategies that work for them. Support can be offered before or after diagnosis; counselling does not provide a diagnostic assessment.
Anxiety, trauma and emotional wellbeing
Counselling offers space to explore worries, distressing experiences, bereavement, low confidence and relationship difficulties. We help pupils recognise emotions, make sense of their experiences and find manageable ways to cope with challenges at school and beyond.
We also support pupils experiencing self-harm, where counselling is appropriate. Working closely with the school's designated safeguarding lead and other services when needed.
Working together with your school
A clear starting point
An initial discussion with your SENCO or pastoral lead helps us understand your school’s priorities and the pupils who may benefit. Assessment informs an individual support plan and helps establish whether our service is appropriate for each referral.
Consistent support and communication
We can discuss a regular counselling day and an agreed programme of sessions suited to your school’s needs and budget. Liaison with relevant staff supports coordinated care, with clear confidentiality boundaries and safeguarding arrangements explained from the outset.
Reviewing progress
We agree goals and review progress using pupil feedback and suitable wellbeing measures. Relevant information is shared within agreed consent and safeguarding boundaries to help your school understand the support provided and plan next steps.
